Our goal is to gain ownership of a Women’s National Basketball Association (WNBA) Team for the 2008 Season.

The Colorado Chill has a great opportunity to lead a WNBA team anchored on values and integrity. Passion according to Head Coach and General Manager Kelly Packard is, “Living life everyday with values and integrity; making people around you feel like they matter; making women feel confident about who they are as women; and teaching them to serve their community with a sincere heart – it’s that simple.” For more see About Us. Triple Crown Sports (TCS), a nation-wide sport marketing company based in Fort Collins, Colorado, has obtained authorization from the WNBA to anchor the development of an ownership group to secure a WNBA team for Colorado. TCS is a very successful sports marketer and event operator in women’s basketball with experiences including the National Women’s Basketball League, Preseason & Postseason WNIT, Caribbean Classics, consulting, and athlete representation. Simply put, this effort is about impacting our community through a values based initiative such as best women’s basketball in the world. We desire to be positive role models for others, especially young girls. It’s been said that the dream of every young girl is to be a woman, and the dream of every woman is to be a little girl. One of the newest WNBA partnerships is Nothing But Nets. This foundation is committed to providing bed nets to help protect children and families in Africa from malaria-carrying mosquitoes. This effort has gained national attention through an article from Sports Illustrated columnist Rick Reilly.

The WNBA's Read to Achieve program is probably the most well known of the WNBA's projects and is a great way for the league and its players to reach out to the kids and really impact their lives. Encouraging kids to read and spending time with them reading is a great way to build relationships within the community while promoting literacy to local kids and families.
